Bed bugs will usually leave red, itchy bite marks on the skin of their victims. They can sometimes be spotted hiding in the crevices of items that have been infested, such as mattresses, pillows or blankets. They will often leave black or dark red spots on such items.
The bite itself is generally painless and, for the most part harmless. In this respect, you can think of it like a mosquito bite. Unfortunately, exactly like a mosquito bite, they tend to irritate human flesh. Which is a fancy way of saying that their bites itch.

Yes, you can go to www.bedbugregistry.com or you can go to www.hotels.com, expedia.com and read the reviews on the hotels that people stayed at. If there were bed bugs at the hotel or motel, there is a good chance that the person will leave the review.
What you don’t see is hotels suing guests who bring bed bugs with them. Adept hitchhikers, they enter hotel rooms in guests’ luggage or on their clothing. Most won’t leave with the guest; they’ll nest in and near the bed awaiting the next occupant and their next meal. Bed bugs are not a sanitation issue. About the size of an apple seed, the tiny nocturnal pests are nuisance parasites that feed on human blood. They do not transmit disease but can cause considerable emotional distress. In about 50% of their victims, bed bug bites produce itchy red welts that may take two days to develop, complicating detection. Many hotel guests check out before an infestation is discovered. Prolific breeders, females can produce up to 500 eggs during their one-year lifespan.

Bed bugs do have to feed in order to complete their molting cycles to become an adult bed bug. They can not lay eggs until they are in the adult bed bug stage. At this time, they deposit one or two eggs per day.
Adult bed bugs can last more than a year without sucking blood. It is different for younger or baby bed bugs. They can last only a few months, or even a few months without food, that is, blood.
Hence, even if a bed infested with bed bugs remains vacant or unoccupied for how many months, chances are the bed bugs still exist there.
Bed bugs on the average life span, needs about three to four replenishments or feeding sessions before it lay eggs and completes its life span.

If a bedbug infestation goes without treatment, it will only cause the bed bugs to reproduce creating more nymphs and cause the infestation to grow out of control.
The Bed Bug problem is a widespread one, as these miniature mites are believed to have traveled from their origin in the Asian continent to the entire globe.
It is hardly unusual to see an infestation of Bed Bugs, but what is important is that we recognise where they live, how to identify them and what to do about them.
The female Bed Bug will give out eggs any day; as she can live for vast lengths of time – over a year – this results in a natural explosion of the Bed Bug population.
The bed bug is in action at night – when we are sleeping – and the first clue to the presence of Bed Bugs is the presence of bites on the skin in the morning.
The bed bug will feast during the night, and as it feeds on human blood it leaves behind indications of its existence.
A bed bug feeds by spearing the skin and feeding in a tube with which it sucks out the required blood, and therefore the victim will rarely know they are being bitten as they are generally asleep.

Bed bugs don’t normally leave their hiding places in the daytime, which is another reason why it is easier to just look at their pictures in magazines and textbooks.
These tiny creatures are nocturnal so night time is party time for them. At night, bed bugs can be seen coming out in search of blood. Vampiric little things, aren’t they? Our human eyes are weaker and less focused at night so, we can hardly see these bed bugs when they are most active at night, hunting and partying. If you feel like you are being plagues by bed bug bites, this may be the reason.
Bed bugs are almost always found in crevices and small holes in the walls or on the floor.
Finding bed bugs is also tedious, requiring a lot of luck on the part of the searcher, or the person looking out for bed bugs. Why? Because full-grown, or adult, bed bugs can store food in their stomachs for about a year or more.
Unfortunately for you, you now know why pictures are more accessible than actual and live bed bugs, even if you are sure your place or bed is a breeding ground for these elusive creatures. The same hold true for pictures of bed bugs bites.

The search for solution and addressing mass suits gives alarming concern that affects profitability of the hotel business. There are two ways that hotels implement to control bed bugs infestation. One is the chemical treatment and the other is the non chemical approach.
1. Chemical Treatment
Chemical treatment is conducted by pest control professionals. This is effective in reaching hard to reach tight places in hotel rooms. Two popular forms are the inorganic diatomaceous earth and the silica aerogel. They are placed in hard to reach tight places and support long term effectiveness. These desiccants render dehydration for the bugs and eventual death. The chemicals are low in toxicity for humans and domestic animals.
Pyrethroids are liquid insecticide repellant chemicals used in applying into crevices to prevent bed bugs from creeping into them.
2. Non-chemical treatments
a) Vacuum Cleaning – Do daily vacuuming of mattresses, furnitures, beds and headboards where bed bugs usually to hide. The vacuum bag must be disposed of its content such that the captured bugs are ensured of being eliminated.
b) Steam clean and Hot drying – Steam cleaning and hot drying of carpets, upholstery of furnitures, beddings and curtains helps eradicate bed bugs and its eggs from all other possible hiding places.
c) Housekeeping – Maintain housekeeping and eliminate clutters in hidden places like cabinets, drawers, stockrooms, etc.
It is a wise management move to contract professional services that have in depth knowledge and vast experience in eradicating pests including bed bugs. Since there are many competitors in the field, it is best to select through proper selection process.
It pays to listen to guest complaints and suggestions to help improve effectiveness of both controlling bed bugs infestation and prevention. They are the key to understanding customer satisfaction and the result of the programs implemented to eliminate bug infestation.

It was soon when bed bugs were considered bugs of the past. Recently there was a new birth of these bugs and new efforts are made about so you wanna know how to kill them.
The most important bed insect – Cimex lectularius – prefers humans as their host. Other species seek other animals like bats & birds.
They are nearly quarter of an inch long with oval shaped body, brown or dark red in color.
Till several years ago, it was not known how to kill a bed-bug.
There are a few jammy ways about how to kill a bed insect.
These are cleaning all the clothes in hot water and following that desiccation them out. A few items that cannot take heat may be put in the freezer. Larger & bulkier items like mattresses can be sealed in black plastic and placed in the sun. The heat into the plastic will kill them. This will be a period of about 2 weeks & the condition of the materials may say that they are discarded.

Having bed bug bites all over your body could be one of your horrendous experience in life. Imagine waking up from your sleep only to be greeted by itchy red marks instead of being greeted with the smile of your wife and kids. Most people cannot bear the itchiness of the bites and start scratching all over the place. Some can just leave the marks like that and let them disappear slowly without treating the bites properly.
The best practice would be to treat the bed bug bites so that your skin is free from infection, as well as reducing the itchiness and the swelling of the bites. But how would you treat the bites? That is the question that most people are searching for the answer every single day.
From my experience dealing with bed bug bites, the most important step of all is to try and reduce the chances of bed bugs lying around your bedroom area. Prevention is better than cure and hygiene is the key. Always make sure that every crease of your bed is free from bed bug eggs. If however the bed bugs manage to sneak into your household, there are several things that you could do to prepare yourself against bed bugs.
What I did before going to sleep was to apply some calamine lotions on my arms and neck. In other words, just apply the lotion on the exposed areas of your body. Somehow it worked like a charm for me. I figured that the chemical in the lotion must have driven the bed bugs away from me. I have no scientific evidence for it but my experience taught me that this is one of the best solutions to prevent the bugs from biting every inch of your body.
The best bit is, calamine lotion is easy to find in stores and it is cheap as well. If you happened to be bitten by the bugs already, you can also apply calamine lotion on the bites to ease the itchiness and reduce the swelling that resulted because of the bites.
